Dawn French, number one bestselling author of A Tiny Bit Marvellous and Oh Dear Silvia, returns with her joyously funny new novel, According To YES . . . NOW at this special price The Foreign Land of the Very Wealthy - otherwise known as Manhattan's Upper East Side - has its own rigid code of behaviour. It's a code strictly adhered to by the Wilder-Bingham family. Emotional displays - unacceptable. Unruly behaviour - definitely not welcome. Fun - no thanks. This is Glenn Wilder-Bingham's kingdom. A beautifully displayed impeccably edited fortress of restraint. So when Rosie Kitto, an eccentric thirty-eight-year-old primary school teacher from England, bounces into their lives with a secret sorrow and a heart as big as the city, nobody realises that she hasn't read the rule book. For the Wilder-Bingham family, whose lives begin to unravel thread by thread, the consequences are explosive. Because after a lifetime of saying no, what happens when everyone starts saying . . . yes? 'I adored According to YES. It's so different to anything I've read in forever, so charming, wise, brilliantly written. I loved it all' Marian Keyes 'There is lots of fun to be had reading this book. It's impossible not to warm to Rosie, a funny and open-hearted woman who acts as a salve and comfort blanket for this unhappy, inhibited family. There's something quite joyous about the way she unashamedly romps her way through the novel, changing the lives of those around her for the better' Express 'French can spin a yarn . . . which sets According to YES apart from the usual chick-lit template. Think the vicar of Dibley, without the dog collar. YES YES YES indeed' Independent Further praise for Dawn French: 'A fantastic slam-dunk pageturner. Funny, enriching . . . page after page I laughed out loud' Mail on Sunday 'A hilarious snapshot of family life in the twenty-first century' Sunday Express 'Extremely funny' Sunday Times 'Dawn tackles the big ones - love, death, grief, childhood, motherhood, parenthood - head on' Guardian 'Makes you laugh on every page' The Times 'A brilliantly observed, very funny novel of family life' Woman and Home 'Funny, really enjoyable, highly recommended. A wonderful writer - witty, wise, poignant' Daily Mail
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them, that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself and unto the doctrine; continue in them; for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself and them that hear thee. 1 Timothy 4:15-16 The messengers We sent before you (O Muhammad), were not other than men to whom We gave revelation. Ask the people of the Rememberence if you do not know. (We sent them) with clear signs and writings; and We have revealed to you (O Muhammad) the Rememberance (the Qur’an) that you may explain to mankind what was sent to them, that they may give thought. Nahl 16:43-44

Forming alliances is a key strategy for firms entering emerging economies. Business opportunities for market entrants are promising and challenging at the same time. Promising because the rapid economic growth provides opportunities to tap new market potentials and challenging because emerging economies display dynamic and complex host environments for inter-firm cooperation. Prospected benefits of alliance strategies are often not realized or insufficient. High failure rates or weak performance are indicators for the inherent complexity that the formation and operation of international alliances entails. This book introduces a resource-based and agency-theoretic perspective on alliance formation analyzing factors that influence the potential to realize competitive advantages through inter-firm cooperation. It presents a framework that integrates (inter)organizational and strategy research in order to investigate determinants of the alliance formation process of partner selection and alliance configuration in the distinct setting of emerging economies. The proposed framework is matched with empirical findings on the basis of a case study on alliances between small and medium-sized firms from industrialized countries and firms from China.

Biblical evidence suggests that the Jerusalem Temple ran spies and that spies were involved in following Jesus. From this idea comes the story of Darmud, an agent of the Jerusalem Temple's spy network whose target is Jesus of Nazareth. In his quest to nail Jesus, he devises the plan that ensnares Judas Iscariot and eventually leads to the Crucifixion. Darmud is the first in a series of narrators sharing firsthand accounts of encounters with Jesus. Also presenting the viewpoints of a Sanhedrin member, an adulteress, a slave, the Roman procurator, and others, the narrative examines the enemies arrayed against Jesus of Nazareth, as well as the doubters and sinners who eventually supported Him. The story is set against a backdrop of competing cultures--Roman, Jewish, and Greek--that both enriched and corrupted first-century Palestine. It explores how the sophistication and political acuity of Jewish and Roman leaders reacted in the presence of Truth itself. With humor and insight, this unusual retelling of the Gospel from the standpoint of fallen humanity manages to highlight the struggle between good and evil raging in every man.
Charles Beale lives happily in the shadows of Washington, D.C., as a respectable rare-books dealer. Or mostly respectable. He has a streak of the gambler in him and when a devoted client dies--a man deeply connected to the Justice Department--Beale eagerly regains the man's book collection...and soon finds himself with more than he bid on. In one volume, Beale discovers documents incriminating a host of major political figures--blackmail material that might have led to murder. Weighing questions of justice and mercy--and with a bull's-eye on his back--Beale must untangle a complicated knot of deadly lies and dangerous secrets.
"Years ago I exposed myself to the possibility that Judaism might have great truths to offer, and Chever Torah (Jewish Bible study) rewarded my open mind with radical improvements in the way I live and view my Christian faith." -from the Introduction After he spent five years attending Chever Torah, Athol Dickson found his faith radically changed-the result being a deeper relationship with God. In beautiful and simple language, The Gospel according to Moses illustrates Dickson's journey of faith exploring some of the primary theological differences and similarities between Christianity and Judaism. He draws generously on both Old and New Testament scriptures, looking at Christian and Jewish perspectives on topics such as suffering, grace vs. works, and the place of Jesus in the Hebrew Scriptures.
