BRB [Be Right Back], Book #2 of the CUL8R Time Travel Mystery/Romance series. Change the past, Save the future. BRB won the Young Adult genre in the Readers' Favorite book competition for 2013. Four high school friends are able to do two things no one else on the planet can do . . . talk with dead people and time travel to the past. It’s early summer and boredom is setting in. They have just returned from an adventure where they travelled through time back to 1966 to solve a mystery and save a popular high school girl’s life. Kelly, Scott, Austin and Zoey gather in Scott’s lab, listening to the old radio that Thomas Edison had invented and called “The Telephone to the Dead”. As they slowly turn the dial they hear hundreds of sad, lonely voices of souls that have passed but apparently never moved on, pleading for help. When they first discovered the radio in Kelly’s aunt’s garage, they had been touched by the cries and pleas coming from its speakers, but they had no way to go back in time to help them. That is, until Scott reveals an invention of his own . . . a time travel app. They’ve tested it only once, but that first trip had been successful . . . if you ignore the fact that Zoey and Kelly had almost gotten killed by a serial killer. Even though they returned with a few scrapes and bruises, they are eager to go on a new adventure and help solve another mystery. A very young girl's voice comes through, saying that her whole family has been murdered on an island just off the east coast of Florida. The teens look the island up on Google Maps and see that it is completely deserted which contradicts the story they’re getting from the Spirit Radio. But it’s a beautiful island called Crystal Key with a stretch of beach that, unlike Ft. Myers Beach, is not crowded with tourists and kids. The teens decide to pop in, spend a nice day on the beach, check out the island to see if there is any truth to the girl’s story, then pop right back. It sounds like a great plan. From the very beginning, things go wrong when Scott miscalculates their landing and they end up splashing into the Atlantic Ocean. After swimming for their lives, they collapse on the beach that is, indeed, beautiful. But it isn’t deserted. They find the little girl, her family and a half dozen more people living in a sprawling Florida-style home owned by a menacing man named Manuel. He gives them no opportunity to escape and insists that they stay in the house. What they discover during their visit is enough to almost get them all killed. As they struggle to survive, Kelly tries to ignore her attraction to Austin, who clearly isn’t interested in a romance. Besides, just days before she went on her very first date . . . with Scott. How could she have such strong feelings for two boys? And then there is Zoey who is hot for Austin, but flirting shamelessly with Scott. Then people start dying and all they can think about is saving the families and themselves. Are they destined to be a madman’s latest victims? Their time travel adventure to a tropical paradise may turn out to be their last. It's difficult to investigate a crime that hasn't happened yet. Bonus chapters of OMG and BION included. Book #1, OMG [Oh My God], a time travel mystery/romance back to 1966 was awarded The Best Young Adult Indie Book in 2013 and was a Finalist in the Beverly Hills Book Awards for 2013. Book #3, BION [Believe It Or Not], a time travel mystery/romance back to 1927 where the teenagers join a travelling circus to help save the life of an attractive young man.

“I’m sorry you feel that way.” —Anyone who’s mastered the fauxpology We all struggle to admit fault. We defend ourselves, talk more than listen, or find flaws in the messenger to dismiss the message. These habits build walls and leave us estranged and disconnected. Letting Go of the Need to Be Right is an invitation to recognize issues that impede personal growth and hinder relationships. You will learn how to:pursue what is right, not who is right.be mindful of your motives.allow for creativity and collaboration.celebrate others instead of stealing the spotlight. We are called to be lifelong learners and servants. When we let go of the need to be right, the pressure to know it all, have it all, and be it all lose their power over us, and we are free to fulfill our calling in God.
There has come a vacuum in America that has tried to eradicate God from the hearts and minds of the people. We have been told that the void that remains should be filled by government. The future of this nation rests in the hands of what seems to be a reluctant people, a people who are told to remain silent, who are told they are the minority, a people who are ridiculed in the public square. These are the ones for whom this book is written. The apostle Paul wrote to Timothy and instructed him to “Stir up the gift of God, which is in thee … For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord” (2 Timothy 1:6–8).

I am not a bad man. I think I can reasonably defend that statement. I try to be a good man, but that's a different story and not for me to adjudicate upon. I regularly reflect on my actions and try to continuously improve and do better than I have before. I'll keep trying to be an agent of good, and when at last I'm gone, history will be the final judge of my actions.Dr. Scott Peck wrote a book in 1978, "The Road Less Traveled", and is one of the most beautiful books I've ever read. It's a study of human potential, and from my somewhat misty memories of the book, is a celebration of the best of the human condition. The book instantly made the world a far better place. Dr. Peck wrote another a book, a reflection on humanity's darker side, and is an agonizing exploration of the evil and mal intent that is resident - to some degree - in most, if not all, of us. That second book is called "The People of the Lie".The People - while not an uplifting read like The Road - is nonetheless compelling and page-turning, as it draws the reader into the world of the profoundly disturbing. The two books are opposite sides of the same coin. We are all capable of tremendous compassion, philanthropy, empathy and goodness. Love, even. We are also capable of the not-so-great, and the not-so-good. Mistakes, even. Those other stories, while perhaps not the ones to burnish, are nonetheless also relevant. They are the Yin to the Yang. No true joy or goodness, without understanding what its opposite looks like. No stories like those in another other book I've written - "What's Your Story?" - my equivalent of The Road Less Traveled. The stories recounted in that book - and this - are the truth. The best of me. And the not so best. But still real, and relevant, and fundamental in shaping the person I've become, and am still becoming. Not perfect, not even close, but still learning and doing better than I did before. Some of the stories contained in this book may be considered "bad" by society in general, but I like them for their sense of adventure and generally pushing the envelope of life. I hope you enjoy them, and are not offended. I hope some of these stories connect, on some level. Yes, no one is perfect, but man, it sure can be fun along the way...
It’s the thirty-fourth century and the nuclear apocalypse has come and gone. Civilization has rebuilt itself, and the results are eerily similar to the early part of the twenty-first century. But there are a few notable differences. Visa owns everything. Deer are the most common domesticated animal. And misinterpretations of preapocalyptic history run amuck (e.g., Sarah Palin established the theory of natural selection). But what hasn’t changed is the nature of good and evil. The Good and the Ghastly centers on two people linked through violence. Mobster Junior Alvarez has risen from street thug to criminal overlord. He will go to incredible lengths to get what he wants—and he desires to live however he pleases, without compromise. The intensity of his quest is matched only by that of the mother of one of Alvarez’s first victims. She has gone vigilante and is hunting down mobsters. The two are prepared to go to the ends of the earth to manifest their wills—one good, one ghastly, both ruthless. A wild satire of our own society, The Good and the Ghastly is a visceral novel informed by Boice’s unnerving sense of reality and pathology. It is also an honest, old-fashioned good-versus-evil story—with a twist of modern-day madness.

A New York Times Best seller! Pat O'Brien was a skinny South Dakota kid with long hair, a rock and roll band, divorced parents and an alcoholic father. In all the familiar ways, he was on the road to nowhere until a professor, who envisioned his future as the household name he would soon become, dramatically changed his life. From that day forward Pat's life took turns that were both spectacular and destructive: from the Huntley-Brinkley Report and afternoons at Bobby Kennedy's living room with Muhammad Ali to conversations with six Presidents. He did acid with Timothy Leary, drank with Mickey Mantle, and over the course of a remarkable career up close and personal with the Beatles, The Stones, The Kennedy's, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and virtually every star in Hollywood. In I'LL BE BACK RIGHT AFTER THIS, Pat reveals the highs and lows of the life of a radio and TV broadcaster, spent sharing the mic with the world's rich and famous while battling an infamous public scandal and demons that nearly killed him. With laughter, tears and miracles he reveals how he learned to accept his mistakes, find redemption and become the father he never had, proving there really are second and even third acts in life.
